The Secretariat

The Museums in Copenhagen Secretariat was established in August 2003 on an initiative from the Museum Council for Copenhagen and Frederiksberg. The purpose of having a common secretariat for the museums in Copenhagen is, in particular, to broaden the knowledge of the museums’ collections and by improving their visibility and marketing them in new ways. One of the Secretariat’s primary tasks is therefore to build and develop the museum portal, which creates a collective forum for the museums and founds the basis for the collective launch. In addition, the Secretariat’s tasks also include establishing co-operations with tourist organisations, educational institutions, the business community and various media, and handling the ongoing marketing. The Secretariat will in this way contribute to creating a renewed attention to the Museums’ collections and the cultural heritage surrounding us, and to making even more people seek out the experiences and the knowledge available at the individual museums.
